The Vauban dam
The Vauban dam is just at a few steps from the “Ponts couverts” where is our base.
Very important in Strasbourg the Vauban dam is baptized the “Big Lock” because of its ability to flood the south of the city which made the passage insurmountable in case of an attack. It was built in the XVII century and gets its name from a military engineer: The Marquis of Vauban.
Before or after a ride on board of our electric and license free boat or for a relaxing moment on our terrace you can easily go on the dam which is just in front of our base.
From the dam you will have a panoramic vision of the city of Strasbourg and its canals: a big terrace has been set so you can enjoy the wonderful view of the different views of Strasbourg.
The Vauban Dam is open every day, and its entrance is free. Our base is right next to it at the 5 Quai du Worthel.
