View points
Sailing up the canal starts in the middle of Paris. After discovering the Rotonde Ledoux (an historical gate of Paris) on the Bassin de la Villette, you will meet the Crimée lifting Bridge (the last lifting bridge of Paris). It lifts up every 30 minutes from 9:15AM till 9:15PM.
After crossing this bridge, you could navigate along the Parc de la Villette where you can see the Géode. It was inaugurated on May the 6th of 1985. There are still other geodes in France but this one is the last one in Paris since the closure of the geode of La Défense in 2001.
You will also get ahead of the Cité des Sciences in the middle of this park.
Finally, you will reach the Pantin Great Flour Mills, an industrial flour mill created in 1884 along the Canal de l’Ourcq and next to the railways. In 2003, the industrial activity stopped and the buildings were rehabilitated to host the company BNP Paribas Securities Services headquarters. Before turning around, you could see the Former Customs House. A historic classified French monument abandoned in the 20th century to become the headquarter of the Street Art: you can admire works of art from Da Cruz, Artof or Popof, etc.
